Banana Date Carob Smoothie

GUESS WHAT DAY IT IS!? I probably don’t even have to tell you. You’re probably so excited already! I know it’s been a while, but it’s MOOTHIE MONDAY! Wooop!

Banana Date Carob Smoothie | thekitchenpaper.com

In all honesty, there has been a lack of moothie mondays because my blender broke! Boo! It’s been a very Bali experience: the connection between the piece on the bottom that spins and the blade, broke. So the bottom part spins, and the blade stays still. After leaving it at the store for two weeks in hopes of repair, it came back semi-fixed, with a very suspicious layer of glue. That glue lasted about two weeks before it gave out, and I’ve yet to go get some glue of my own to take care of it. Oh well! For this, I used the smaller “chopping” attachment! Small-batch smoothies… maybe we’ll start a new trend.

Today I bring you a first for TKP: carob! I’ve never used it before, and honestly can’t talk much about it… I’m treating it like chocolate powder but healthier — and that’s purely based off of zero facts.

This smoothie is simple. Four ingredients: frozen banana, carob, dates, yogurt. The yogurt was really just to get things moving — you could sub in any kind of liquid you want. The carob is yucky on its own, so the dates are absolutely necessary to get some sweetness! This was my morning beverage today, but I daresay this will see a dessert appearance in my future… it’s sweet, healthy, and YUM!

Have a lovely week! xo
